Emmanuelle

Name: Emmanuelle Vigneron
Country: France

Emmanuelle was born in Strasbourg (France) and moved to The Netherlands 10 years ago, where she currently lives.

She started to play keyboard and to sing in some bands during high school for fun, but she already knew at that time that music was all she wanted to do.

She played in several bands, but never found her place until she met Dutch guitarist Peter Bloemendaal. Together they founded Chemical Days in 2012; a shoegaze, alternative pop rock band, difficult to tag.

Their first album produced by René Rutten ( The Gathering ) should be available this 2014 spring.

Emmanuelle has this soft but passionate color in her voice that would make you fly through out  the sound textures, our understanding was unique.” –D.Heksolson.

As for being part of the Red Page project, this is what Emmanuelle tells us all:

I feel honoured being a part of Danny’s musical universe. I really like the diversity of his music, and his open-mindedness. I like musicians who are receptive to new ideas, and I like this one!

Name: Mavi Solano
Country: Spain

Mavi is a singer from Malaga, Spain who also works as a group coordinator for a spanish-for-foreign-people school. She is the vocalist for the Overdub progressive rock band.

From a very young age, she dreamt with being on stage as a part of an important band; then she follow that path and were singing in different bands as Shawen and Mercy, performing various styles until she finally landed as the main singer for Overdub where she feels satisfied.

Willing to collaborate with other bands and side projects, she has participated with Overdub and Danny Heksolson himself, as well as with some other musicians for the Cycling Colours tribute to The Gathering albums, because this Dutch band is one of her favourites. She is also influenced by Craig Armstrong, Bruce Dickinson or Dream Theater.

Danny met her in Madrid back then in 2003, at a The Gathering concert, and Mavi and Curro -the Overdub guitar player and composer as well as Mavi´s couple- gave him their first demo cd.

“When I first heard her singing those nice progressive tunes, I became addicted to her unique voice that is perfect for sound experimentation; the years passed by and from the beggining of my project she has been in my mind to be one of my guests, this is finally happening and I think she is now a more mature singer” -D. Heksolson.

What about the singers? and the staff…

And as our “first accoustic pre-demo” gets in shape, we´ve been working on the previously mentioned selection of the guest singers carefully, as well as working the part of the staff configuration; from our steady photographers to our new public relations manager to our designer; each one of them talented women whose names we´ll reveal officially at the proper time.

The singers issue is what has been on the mind of our followers and we have received some mail with this kind of questions. So, remembering our short history we can see the singers that have been involved one way or another with us and our development, we have names like the famous Marcela Bovio (Stream of Passion) and Marjan Welman (Autumn), with whom due to their multiple professional tasks and because of this project was mostly merely an idea, we never put together a finished song or demo; then our beloved ukrainian singer Larisa Shelest came to scene, whose voice captured us inmediately from the very first time and who have been working with us long distance and countinously since 2007; later there were as guests singers on the live stage for the The Gathering´s tribute parties from Anna Laura Aguirre (Bisana) & Marcela Bovio to Michéle Ávila (Melandrolia) or Sharon Quintero (ex-Periadam). As time went by, the idea of recording in studio with everyone of them has been on my mind but for any reason we hadn´t finished something strong but for the The Gathering´s cover versions. More recently, our brazilian friend Tatiana Berke recorded also with us and we even developed one of her songs together in studio and yet again, long distance.

Nowadays, we have defined the action plan to finish the recording of our very first album with a clear path, and because of that, we are going to work with four or five guest singers who represent different geographical areas. At the moment we have already three spots filled up, with one or two spots remaining; of course as soon as the final line up is ready we´ll publish it here. I can tell you that in order to provide the project with a powerfull voice that can even be the lead singer to cover live events in México if needed, we have searched hard for our ideal singer, a mexican one of course.

So, we are living exciting moments of sustancial advance in these two firsts months of the year 2013, filled up with the recording of our “first accoustic pre-demo” in which our guests singers are currently and finally working, with the addition of people who loves the project and has put their knowledge in our favor and with the selection of our definitive core of singers (we are waiting only for a pair of confirmations to make it official).

Dont stop reading our blog to obtain the latest news about our “Beyond the black” debut album development and recording, it should be out some time near the last part of this year.

UPDATE: You can check the guest singers updated list here! 🙂

KEEP ON ROCKIN!

-Danny Heksolson.
